Bonnie Seastrand, the principal's secretary at Truman Elementary, was recognized as this month's GEM as Granite School District reported.
Her principal told Granite School District that Seastrand goes beyond her position's responsibilities to support students, families, and staff. According to the report, Seastrand trains new secretaries, assists staff members, and knows many parents by name. Her principal stated that she "is truly the heart and soul of Truman Elementary" and noted that she keeps watch over the school property during evenings and weekends.
Granite School District reported that Seastrand's reliability allows the principal to focus on teaching and learning.
