Granite School District reported that its Calendaring Committee is gathering resident preferences for the 2028-2029 calendar structure through a survey closing at 5:00 PM on October 19th. Additionally, Superintendent Horsley will host a virtual town hall on Facebook on Tuesday, October 27th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM to answer questions submitted in advance. The district also contracted with demographic firm MGT for a preliminary community input survey concerning declining enrollment, boundary adjustments, and potential school closures. Regarding winter weather, the district stated it aims to keep schools open, noting that start time delays and distance learning days are rare, though parents will receive texts and emails if changes occur. Finally, the Board of Education recently heard updates regarding bullying prevention, staffing, and Olympus Jr. High’s FACS Club.
